Q?

What is your max plate size?

A.

Our max plate size 50” x 80”.

Q?

Why does my sleeve print differently when it is cold?

A.

Temperature affects printing. One of the biggest ways is through the expansion and contraction of polymer and elastomer plates and sleeves. Material changes across temperature ranges can produce registration and quality issues with your flexographic printing process, which has tolerances in the thousandths of inches.

Q?

Why is fingerprinting important?

A.

• Define the specific traits—speed, pressure, dot percentage, etc.—of a given printer
• Maintain tight tolerances and match the proof consistently
• Create a standard to use in comparison with future print jobs as a means of quality control
• Control pressroom variables and improve print repeatability

Q?

What is a kiss impression?

A.

Simply put, on an ideal printrun, the printing sleeve or plate should just "kiss" the substrate. Technically, a kiss impression is the minimum impression needed to transfer all text, solids and halftones to the substrate.

Q?

What is Subsurface Engraving?

A.

The ability to three-dimensionally control the dot height, shape, surface size, shoulder width, angle and relief depth of both halftones and text. Taking the highlight dot
subsurface controls dot gain, while allowing more pressure latitude on press.
